Is realising a method or idea in order to prove it’s feasibility, usability or checking if a given concept has practical potential.

In software development proof of concept often covers a couple separate processes of varying goals and user roles: business provider roles may use a verifying concept to check if a system fulfils given aspects of the goal which it was designed to achieve. When the provider is satisfied, a prototype is designed, which is later used to raise funds or show to potential customers.

Proof of concept in the context of RPA usually means implementing automation in an enterprise for one selected process. Based on its efficiency, a decision about extending automation is made.
